HOPPY GOES FOUR FOR FOUR!!!
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 21, 1997 - Hoppy Brewing Company, Inc. is proud to announce
that all of their products won a medal at the 6th Annual Beerfest this past Saturday in
Santa Rosa. "Our Liquid Sunshine Blonde Ale won a gold medal in the Golden Ale
category, our Total Eclipse Black Ale won a silver medal in the Robust Porter
category, our Hoppy Claus Holiday Ale (which was pulled out of our hidden away
stock) won a Bronze medal in the Herb/Spice Beer category, and our Hoppy Face Amber
Ale won a bronze medal in the American Amber Ale category," says an excited company
President, Troy Paski.
"The competition used three different categories to judge the beers, comments Josh
Williams," the company's head of Brewing Operations. "The categories were based
on: Style (0-3), Technical (1-4), and Drinkability (0-5) with the corresponding possible
amount of points, and with the weighting being biased towards the Drinkability category, I
thought our beers had a very good chance of winning something. However, with 18 different
local breweries in the competition, and with only 7 gold medals being awarded, I sure
didn't expect this from our Liquid Sunshine. Troy really hit it right on when he developed
this recipe, and as we have seen by its growing demand over this past year," finishes
a rather surprised and proud Josh.
"We recently expanded our distribution into Sonoma County, and thought this would
be an excellent opportunity to expose our beers to people in that area," says a
thrilled Theresa Cleary, the company's Event Coordinator. "We were one of 25 local
breweries in attendance on a misty Saturday afternoon at the Luther Burbank Center, and
about 500 people got to try our products; some for the very first time. Its such a
blast watching people get this little grin on their face after trying one of our products!
In addition, proceeds from the event go to Face to Face and the Sonoma County AIDS
Network, which, since 1985, has been providing a wide range of free services to men,
women, and children living with AIDS and HIV disease in Sonoma County," adds Theresa.

HOPPY BREWING COMPANY DELIVERS TOTAL ECLIPSE BLACK ALE
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 21, 1996 -- Hoppy Brewing Company, Inc. announces the release of
its third micro-brewed beer, Total Eclipse Black Ale. This follows on the heels of
their very popular Liquid Sunshine Blonde Ale and their flagship product, Hoppy
Face Amber Ale. Total Eclipse Black Ale is a dark beer with a light taste. This brew
represents Hoppy Brewing Company's dedication to crafting the finest ales available today.
With their latest offering, Hoppy Brewing Company has continued its development of
high-quality ales with a distinctive hop character. "The birth of Total Eclipse is a
result of a small pilot brew which formed quicker than anticipated," said Troy Paski,
President and CEO. "Sometimes the best things come unexpectedly, especially when it
came to the development of our new black ale," said Director Patrick McKenzie. Hoppy
Brewing Company plans to continue revolutionizing the way people view a truly good ale.
Total Eclipse Black Ale has been described as similar to a light, dry stout.
Characterized by its distinctive hop aroma and rich, black color, Total Eclipse redefines
the way you think about a dark ale. Brewed at a low temperature to create a refreshingly
dry finish, Total Eclipse uses only the finest two-row malted barley and hops grown in the
great Pacific Northwest. This combination results in a clean, crisp, hand-crafted
experience. Hoppy Brewing Company has never used any artificial preservatives, flavors, or
colors in any of its ales. The Hoppy label is your guarantee of purity.
