SAN JOSE, CA - Blakes Steakhouse will be holding their third annual golf outing on Monday, September 15th, at the Villages Golf & Country Club. Previous outing had been at Pasatiempo, but Blake felt that it would be nice to try a different course this year, plus it would provide a shorter drive to Blakes for the after-round dinner and awards ceremony. Format for the tournament will be a two best-ball gross & net, with a 12:00pm shot-gun start. For those interested in reserving a spot(s), spaces are limited, so you should quickly contact Blake at 408.298.9221 to ensure your presence. If you have not played in this tournament before, it is quite a blast, plus the dinner and awards presentation are a must - even for the non-golf enthusiast...

SAN JOSE, CA - Now that season has turned from summer to fall, those "ever-creative" people over at Hoppy are rumored to be working a "sponsorship" deal with the San Jose women's professional basketball team - the Lasers. In only their second season, the Lasers are already breaking attendance projections, and are even planning to play four games in the San Jose Arena this year...
For the past two years Hoppy has been a sponsor of our San Giants, (single-A baseball). Unfortunately the team suffered in the win column this year due to some player realignment within the California League. However, even though the team suffered in the standings, the fans broke an all-time record in attendance, with over 150,000 people showing up to see a game or two this year. Look for Hoppy, and the infamous "beer-batter special" to be back again next season.
In addition, the San Jose Rhinos (indoor roller hockey) played an "excellent" season this year, and came within one game of making it back to battle for the Murphy Cup championship. "This is an incredible sport to watch, and quite economical as well," comments Andy Brinck, Hoppy's Director of Sales. "With attendance on the increase, and more people becoming aware of our products, look for us to be back supporting the Rhinos next year as well," concludes an excited Mr. Brinck.

HOPPY TALES OF
RECENT EVENTS!!!
July 19th found Hoppy Face as the featured microbrew at the Eclipse Group's (Eclipse Group) third annual company party. The Eclipse Group is an eclectic group of people who specialize in offering a complete range of supply chain solutions. The Eclipse party was catered by none other than Mr. Rich Bergin who decided to take a break from being the "chef extraordinaire" at the Shark & Rose (Shark&Rose). When the party was over, one [empty] keg of Hoppy Face was found sitting next to one [full] of a "lite" domestic beer. It seems that the people at Eclipse not only provide quality consulting, but they also know when to choose a quality beer to drink as well...
August 09&10th were the dates for this years annual Small Brewer's Festival in Mountain View. This festival is billed as the third largest tribute to beer in the country, and by the number of people on hand Saturday, some might wonder why it is not the largest... Instead of having a three day festival like last year, festival organizers kept the festival to just two days, but with longer hours. Saturday's festivities ran from 11-9, while Sunday's ran from 11-7, which gave people plenty of time to sample the vast number of different beers to be found.

HOPPY SPOTLIGHTS
ROSY'S FISH CITY!!!
SAN JOSE, CA - Rosy's Fish City, formerly known as Seafood Gourmet, has been catering to locals on the east side of San Jose (Capital and Story) for the past fourteen years; all while "quietly" serving up some of the best seafood to be found in the entire south bay. Rosy Bergin, proprietor of the place, said she changed the name "because we had just finished completing some new interior and exterior upgrades, and I never really like the other name to start with. I also felt the timing was perfect with the renovations, and thought it was now or never... Unbelievably, it seems that since the change in the name, our sales have increased by about 20 percent."
When first walking in the door, one comes to realize that Rosy's is not your typical seafood restaurant. "It's more like a hybrid seafood market in a cozy little restaurant," comments a nearby hungry patron. Being a market, as well as a restaurant, offers Rosy the opportunity to have quite a large selection to choose from on her menu. Items range from your typical fresh "raw" catch from the sea, to those of the more "gourmet" like a Smoked Salmon Pasta or Sole Cilantro. One recent Hoppy Staff member ventured in to find that Rosy offered enough tasty varieties on her menu, that they could probably eat there seven days a week and never get tired of coming back. In addition to all of that variety, Rosy's is constantly winning awards for her fish-n-chips.
Along with the name change, Rosy has decided to upgrade her beer selection by adding a "local" microbrew to her beverage list. Therefore, if you are the mood for some excellent seafood, you might want to try stopping by for lunch or dinner, prices are more than reasonable, and while there, make sure to ask her for a Hoppy Face to go with your meal. Tell her we sent you, and let us know what you think of Rosy's...
