HOPPY CHALK'S IT UP!!!

SACRAMENTO, CA - With the traditional end of Summer happening this past Labor Day weekend, Hoppy Brewing was proud to be the Signature Sponsor for 10th Annual Chalk Art Festival at Fremont Park (15th & P St.) in Sacramento. This annual festival features over 150 sidewalk paintings created during the festival by local artists who donate their time, energy, and talent during the three day event. These concrete masterpieces are left on the sidewalk for the public to enjoy throughout the month of September. There was plenty of entertainment at the festival, which also featured local bands and other performers, with the proceeds going to fund children's arts education projects throughout Sacramento County. For more information on this event, please visit their website at http://www.chalkitup.org, or for that matter, visit our festival website below to see some interesting pictures from this unique fundraising event.

HOPPY CLASSIC CAR SHOW...

SACRAMENTO, CA - Last month saw the first ever Car Show in front of Hoppy Brewing. We had quite the turn out of classic, street-rod, and late-model cars. The show ran from 11:00am until 4:00pm with cars arriving early, parking out in front of our brewpub, and with other cars showing up throughout the day. Event participants were treated to a 25% discount on Food and Drink during the event, and there were even First, Second, and Third places awarded. With such an enthusiastic response from this event, make sure to get your car in early next year so that you get a good spot out by the street.

For those who missed out on this event, feel free to click on the link below to get an idea of some of the cars in attendance.

HOPPY MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!!

SACRAMENTO, CA - Monday Night Football made its debut earlier this week with a whole new cast. Dennis Miller in the booth with Dan Fouts and Al Michaels made for some real entertainment to say the least. This year we are taking our own Monday Night Football promotions to another level. Starting at 4:00pm each Monday, we will feature all of our 12 ounce beers on tap for only $1.00 until someone scores during the game. That is someone on the field - not someone in the audience...

In addition, local radio station personality KZZO 100.5 - The Zone's Rick Chase will be making a guest appearance for two "key" matchups this Fall. The first game will be October 23rd, with Miami at the New York Jets, and then the second game will be November 13th, with our Oakland Raiders at the Denver Broncos - this will be a game to remember... Mr. Chase is fast becoming the most controversial radio personality in the area (maybe even the nation) after leaving San Francisco, so look for some exciting times when he gets off of the air and heads over here to our brewpub to help excite the crowd, and make sure to get down here early to get a good seat before the game starts!

HOPPY UPCOMING EVENTS!!!

CSUS Football kick's off its home opener against Cal Poly this coming weekend, September 09th at 6:05pm. Hoppy Brewing Company is once again proud to be the microbeer sponsor for the CSUS Hornet's. IMPORTANT: new rules are in place this year, which is keeping ALL beer limited to the beer garden at the South end of the stadium. However, we will have two food booths at each end of the stadium when you are feeling hungry... SPECIAL HOPPY BONUS: if you are interested in going to the game as our guest, stop by our brewpub any day this week, or come by for dinner on the way to the game, and pick up a voucher to exchange for a FREE ticket - we are just a ten minute walk to the stadium through the new pedestrian underpass. (Free ticket vouchers while supplies last)

Coming this September 23rd, will be the 6th Annual California Brewer's Festival, from 1:00 until 5:00pm, located at Cesar Chavez Park in downtown Sacramento. There will be over 100 award-winning microbrews from northern California, Oregon, and Nevada; food from local restaurants, and live music from local favorites "The Dukes". Proceeds this year are benefiting Communities In Schools - Student Buddy Program. This event is presented by "Rotary of Point West" with tickets $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the gate. For more information, call 916.368.BREW, or visit their website at http://www.calbrewfesst.org.

The Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado is once again upon us from October 05th through the 07th. This is the BIG granddaddy of beer festivals in the craftbrew industry, with about 300 brewers from around the country converging upon Denver to show off their latest brews. This festival draws about 20,000 people a day each year, and makes for one exciting time during the course of each day's session. We know most of you do not have the opportunity to make it out to Denver, so we try to take pictures of the festival and provide them to you on our website in past years. However, one thing that might happen this year is that we might be able to provide live updates from the festival with a wireless webcam. Stay tuned for more details at http://www.hoppy.com/gabf2000, or if you are interested in more details about this awesome festival, visit their website at http://www.beertown.org/GABF/gabf.htm.

On October 07th, from 10:00am until 5:00pm, here in Old Town Sacramento will be the 5th Annual "Art on the River" festival. This annual event on the Sacramento River Waterfront attracts over 15,000 people to view various pieces of work from an elite corps of local and regional artists. Hoppy Brewing is proud to announce that we are the official beer sponsor for the event, so make sure to mark your calendar and come visit us down on the waterfront in Old Sacramento. For more information, feel free to visit their website at http://www.oldsacramento.com - we hope to see you there!

In addition to our normal daily Hoppy Hour from 4-7pm and our LATE-NIGHT Hoppy Hour from 10-11pm, featuring $2.25 pints and $8.00 pitchers, the Hoppy Crew has been busy spreading awareness of a number of incentives.

On Monday's (during football season) we feature $1.00 12 ounce beers from 4:00pm until someone scores in the game. On Tuesday's we feature $2.00 pints all day until we close. On Wednesday's we have a South Park special where all 12 ounce beers on tap are only $1.00 from 10:00pm until Kenny dies! Closing the weekend out, on Sunday evenings we treat those in the hospitality industry to $1.50 pints from 7:00pm until we close. If you do not have a Hospitality Industry Pass (HIP) card yet, please make sure to ask your bartender/server for one, but you will need to show proof that you are in the industry...

In other entertainment news, every Thursday features "Videodome" in the TIN-Room (behind Hoppy Brewing) starting at 9:00pm. Videodome features some cutting edge technology in video/audio morphology, so if that is not enough to get you interested, then maybe some Hoppy brews for only $1.00 will fit your budget. Also, every Friday "late-night" continues to feature FBI (Far Beyond Intense) "The Chase" from 11:00pm until 1:45am in the main dining area of the brewpub. The Chase features the sounds of High Energy, Disco, House, Salsa, and RnB by local DJ's Wreck, E-Swift and Brian Tedlos for only a $5.00 cover.

Lastly, if you are looking for a space to have a private party and do not mind some rustic surroundings, our TIN-Room behind the brewery might suit your needs. If you have an interest, just call 916.451.4677 and speak with Mr. Kenny Turner to plan your next party or event...

Remember...the craft brew industry is very competitive, and we can always use your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and etc. How can you help us you may be asking yourselves??? Well...we need you to ask your local retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging them if necessary), so that you are able to buy the products that you "really" want - not just what is on the store shelf, or on-tap, at the moment...

You, the consumer, have more power than you may know. Speak up, speak clearly, and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards. If you do this, then we are sure it will not be long before you will be able to enjoy our Liquid Sunshine™ Blonde, Hoppy Face™ Amber, and Total Eclipse™ Black Ales outside of attending a local festival, or even visiting us here in Sacramento...
