HOPPY SPRINGS & TATTOO-MANIA GET MILE HIGH IN DENVER!!!
AUBURN, CA - On October 01st, at the 17th annual Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado, those "Purveyor's of Fun" at the Hoppy Brewing Company launched their newest product "Hoppy Springs™ [Pre-Brewed] Spring Water" to a receptive nation-wide audience. "We had a bit of a shipping issue to overcome at the start of the festival, but the guys out on the loading dock banded together and manually unloaded all 132 cases from a truck that was eager to continue moving just as the festival was getting started," commented an excited Mr. Steve Rickman, Hoppy's "Mr. Facility".
"It was nice to find Hoppy Springs™ available at all the hospitality stands, the Brewer's VIP area, and at the Hoppy booth to rinse the palate in between beers, and to help rehydrate the body after a stint or two in trying to taste all 1,762 beers from 400 breweries in Currigan Hall," commented a fun-loving beer enthusiast in front of the Hoppy booth. Because of the water and the tattoo's, the Hoppy Brewing Company drew a wide variety of attention from a record 31,500 beer enthusiasts over three nights. "We had representatives from the Anheuser-Busch company come by and remark that the water product was a neat idea - not too mention they hung around to see where the next tattoo was going to go," commented an always energetic Mr. Robert Helms, Hoppy's Director of Promotions. "In addition, Troy got interviewed by CNN, and I got interviewed by "Sabrina" from the Travel Channel - she even got one of our tattoo's," added Mr. Helms.
The Hoppy Brewing Company has been putting on little temporary tattoo's of their flagship product "Hoppy Face™ Amber Ale" for a number of years at various festivals. However, this festival it seems that someone thought to bring a Polaroid camera, and make this unique "Hoppy Wall Of Fame" with pictures of places where people had their tattoo applied. The following website contains pictures of all of the hedonistic fun people were having with their tattoo placement. However, if you are offended by viewing the human body, please avoid going to this page, some pictures are a bit risque for general viewing, and it might take a bit to download - unlike the sample to the right...

www.hoppy.com/gabf98_pix.htm Upon catching up with Troy Paski, Hoppy Brewing's heart and soul, and asked what is the deal with the tattoo's, he replied with the following thoughtful answer. "You get people to stand around your booth getting tagged and getting to know them [for a brief moment] - thereby creating a line and a connection with that person. This in turn creates more people standing around wanting to see what's going on. When you're done, they walk away from your booth and become a walking billboard for your brand/icon. Lastly, they wake up the next morning and go...oh yeah I remember that beer, and then they've got something to talk about with their friends. Hopefully with the result if they see our beer some place, they'll remember the experience and decide to purchase our beer, or at least talk about the experience. What other kind of advertising can capture that much time with a consumer for the price of a little tattoo?" answers a rather thoughtful Mr. Paski.
For more information on Hoppy Springs, or the Hoppy Tattoo's, please contact Mr. Robert Helms at 530.888.0753 ext. 42, or feel free to email him at robert@hoppy.com with your questions or comments.

HOPPY MAKES DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT...
AUBURN, CA - For those of you who have been having a difficult time trying to find one of Hoppy Brewing's products in the Bay Area, those days are about to be over.
Hoppy Brewing has just teamed up with "CAMM Beverage & Consumer's Distributing" to provide distribution to Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and San Francisco counties in California. "With an explosive growth in the number of microbreweries over the past few years, the various portfolios that distributors currently carry, and their commitment to not only providing attention to our products, but the very best customer service possible to our retailers, we felt that CAMM offered the best of those values that Hoppy tries to promote, and we are looking forward to building a mutually beneficial relationship these guys," comments an excited Mr. Paski.
CAMM will compliment Hoppy's existing distribution in the Bay Area with A&D Distributing. "With our new agreement, Hoppy now has solid distribution from Monterey to Santa Rosa, and from the coast to the delta in the valley. In addition, the first stores to get stocked will probably be the Beverages, & more! stores," adds enthusiastic Mr. Andy Brinck, Hoppy's Director of Sales and Distribution.
If you have a retail location in mind, or are a licensed retailer and would like to order one of Hoppy's fine products, feel free to call CAMM at 800.772.5742 or 510.569.5335 for San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, and Alameda county accounts; or A&D Distributing at 800.303.(BREW) 2739 or 650.583.4953 for San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey county accounts - I know they are looking forward to hearing from you. Everyone else is free to call directly to Hoppy at 530.888.0753.

ALAMEDA, CA - Just when you thought this newsletter was just about beer... "Almost Home Antiques", formerly located at 2027 Clement in Alameda, has just undergone a restoration of sorts with their recent move into their new location at 1509 Webster St. in Alameda.
Marvalee Wagner the primary proprietor of the establishment, along with her husband Jim Partridge (a true Hoppy fanatic and supporter) were recently forced to move from their previous business location of four and half years, and are now planning a Grand Re-Opening Party on Saturday, November 14th.
"With the party, Jim's recent trip to the brewery, and his commitment to spreading the word about truly good beer, you can expect to find some Hoppy products available as well for the party goers," comments his wife Marvalee. "I remember one day last spring when he couldn't find any Hoppy Face in the East Bay, he called the brewery to see if any was available, and then made the two hour drive to the brewery, just get some beer that he'd truly grown to love. It's amazing what that man will do for good beer," concludes Marvalee.
Almost Home Antiques specializes in genuine antique furniture, estate liquidation's, and appraisals of personal property. So if you have some furniture that you would like to move, or are looking for that something "hard-to-find" special piece of furniture, feel free to give them a call at 510.523.8522, and do not forget to tell them that we sent you. In addition, you are invited to the party, and we look forward to seeing you at the Grand Re-Opening Party as well!!!

HOPPY VENUE SPOTLIGHT - A DIFFERENT KIND OF LATITUDE...
AUBURN, CA - For those hungry and thirsty rode weary travelers who have passed by the historic gold country town of Auburn without finding your way into the grand old white Victorian on Maple Street across from the landmark court house, you simply do not know what you have been missing...
"Latitudes - Pat & Pete's World Kitchen" has a wide variety of vegetarian & international food on the menu to choose from, but their main specialty is featuring food from a different "latitude" around the world every month. For example, for the month of November they will be featuring food from East India, and in December they will be featuring Holiday dishes from around the world.
Latitudes proprietors Pat and Pete Enochs have had their business in Auburn for the last 14 years, but seven years ago they decided to move into their current historic location at 130 Maple Street. When asked about the "latitude" theme, Pete told a member of the Hoppy Crew on a recent visit that it gives their customers an opportunity to continually try new dishes from around the world without having to go search for new restaurants, and it gives him and his wife an opportunity to continually experiment and create new dishes every month.
The restaurant is in this great old white Victorian at street level, with a great outdoor balcony on the backside for those Sunday brunches, and there is always some form of artwork from various artists on display. In addition, for those who are interested in a Cheers type setting, they acquired the basement lounge (known as the ever popular ABA Lounge) last year, and now have it consolidated all under one operation.
One can usually find a local musician playing on the weekend in the lounge, and it is quite all right to eat downstairs as well. Pete, being a long time supporter of local microbreweries, was one of the first to carry New Albion beer way back when, and always has a unique selection of hard to find beers available. However, if you are not in the mood for dinner, and are looking for just an appetizer and a beer, make sure to order what may be the best fries in the universe according to Dave & Phil's morning show from Y92 radio station, and perhaps a Hoppy Face as well.

Remember...the craft brew industry is very competitive, and we can always use your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and etc. How can you help us you may be asking yourselves??? Well...we need you to ask your local retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging them if necessary), so that you are able to buy the products that you "really" want - not just what is on the store shelf or on tap at the moment...
You, the consumer, have more power than you may know. Speak up, speak clearly, and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards. If you do this, then we are sure it will not be long before you will be able to enjoy our Liquid Sunshine™ Blonde, Hoppy Face™ Amber, and Total Eclipse™ Black Ales, and our newest product Hoppy Springs™ "Pre-Brewed" Spring Water outside of attending a local festival...
