HOPPY CLAUS DEBUTS!!!
SACRAMENTO, CA - Each year after the heat of Summer begins to fade, our Hoppy Brew Crew begins planning for our annual holiday brew. The first step is obtaining the "special" ingredients for the brew. Basically, our Hoppy Claus™ is an amped up version of our flagship Hoppy Face™ Amber Ale, but instead of adding hops to the finish, Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea is added. Bengal Spice contains a unique mixture of cinnamon, roasted chicory root, roasted carob, dates, ginger root, cardamom, black pepper, cloves, and nutmeg that adds a real unique and interesting character to the brew.
Once this annual beer is brewed, finished fermenting, filtered, and ready for packaging, the beer is young and still requires time to "mellow". However, the Hoppy Brew Crew works on labeling bottles, and getting some of this precious brew bottled just in time for the shipping truck to pick it up and deliver it to Denver, Colorado for the annual Great American Beer Festival the first week of October.
With the rest of the batch quietly "mellowing" away in the "bright beer tank" here at our brewpub, the brew crew patiently waits until the end of October to finish packaging what will be shipped out to our local distributors; which will in turn end up on retailers store shelves (i.e., Beverages,& more!) for thirsty consumers to purchase during the holiday season.
The remainder is then kegged out for its debut here in the brewpub on November 01st (to much excitement), or for off-premise sales around the area during the holiday season. In the grand scheme of things, enough is brewed so that none is left after Christmas, and hopefully unlike last year, we brewed enough to get you through the holidays. It weighs in with a hearty amount of alcohol at 7.6% by volume, so make sure to stop in for a pint or two before it is gone, or else you will have to wait until next year...

HOPPY MONDAY NIGHT...
SACRAMENTO, CA - What has Monday Night Football, the Oakland Raiders on TV, Mr. Rick Chase from KZZO - 100.5 FM, a beautiful Raiderette, and $1.00 Hoppy brews to boot, in common??? Why Hoppy Brewing does this coming Monday, November 13th!!!
Each Monday during football season, starting at 4:00pm, we feature our craft brews for only a $1.00 until someone scores in the game. However, this coming Monday make sure to tune your radio to KZZO - 100.5 around 4:30pm for Mr. Chase interviewing the voluptuous Ms. Jacqueline Siemens from the Raiderettes (she might even be on their WebCam at http://www.radiozone.com). Once Ms. Siemens is finished with the radio interview, she will be here at Hoppy signing pictures, calendars, and whatever else you wish to have autographed before and during the game.
In addition, as soon as Mr. Chase is done with his radio show, he will be here at our brewpub helping excite the crowd, giving away prizes, and cheering [hopefully] the Raiders onto victory over the Denver Broncos.
Plan on showing up early, otherwise you might miss all of the fun!!!

HOPPY GABF 2000...
DENVER, CO - After last year's "Wall of Fame", the Hoppy Crew™ came to Denver this year with more than just beer on their minds. The crew came with their Polaroid camera in hand ready to snap pictures of where the next Hoppy tattoo might be creatively applied, as well as trying to sample over 1,100 different beers from over 280 breweries from around the country.
According to Mr. Robert Helms, Hoppy Brewing's Director of Promotions, "we have been putting on little temporary tattoo's at festivals for years, and after last years "Wall of Fame", we decided to tone down festivities a bit by putting the Polaroid's in a little photo album for the people to view."
With a Polaroid camera in place, and the photo album with pictures of festival goer's tattoos nearby, the Hoppy booth was quite the buzz during the annual three day festival. "Each year I find it simply amazing where people will put a tattoo," comments Mr. Ed Kopta, Hoppy's Head Brewer.
The following website contains pictures of all of the hedonistic fun people were having with their tattoo placement at this, and last years festivals.

HOPPY TO HOST BREWER'S...
SACRAMENTO, CA - According to the Hoppy Brew Crew, with the dates for the American Brewers Guild's Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering classes once again fast approaching, they will be moving the current bottling area so the students can once again use it as a lab. "We are always excited about having the students here, and if we have to do a little extra work to accommodate them, well then it is worth the effort to see and hear what is on the minds of the next crop of brewers," comments Mr. Tom Frisbie, Hoppy Brewing's Head Quality Control Brewer.
If you have an interest in brewing, or becoming a brewer, and would like more information on what the school has to offer, you can visit them online at http://www.abgbrew.com, or simply call them at 800.636.1331, we are quite sure you will get more than your money's worth by going through the program.

In other entertainment news, Bob & Pete continue to produce "Videodome" in the TIN-Room each Thursday night starting at 9:00pm. According to Bob, "we are doing more than a DJ putting out some cool dance tunes, we are providing some killer videos and lights to match the HOT tunes". There are also $1.00 Hoppy brews available in the TIN-Room each Thursday night to help meet those student budgets for those who are interested...
Finally, every Friday "late-night" continues to feature FBI (Far Beyond Intense) "The Chase" from 11:00pm until 1:45am in the main dining area of the brewpub. The Chase features the sounds of High Energy, Disco, House, Salsa, and RnB by local DJ's Wreck, E-Swift and Brian Tedlos for only a $5.00 cover. In addition, the crowd has gotten large enough that by 12:30 on Friday nights, the guys at the door are turning people away; so if you want in to dance - show up at 11:00 and get in line to get inside...

HOPPY UPCOMING EVENTS...
Remember, according to what Robyn Hitcock said from the early 80's band - Softboys, "The greatest crime of the 20th Century is that of the (silent) voting majority". Therefore, let us not make that the case here in the first major vote of the 21st Century; so get off your butt and go VOTE!!! With that being said, and this being ELECTION DAY, bring in your [voting stub] and exchange it for a pint of one of our Hoppy brews! You will not regret it! Now is that an incentive to vote or what???
Stay tuned for some new menu items on the Lunch and Dinner menus coming in the next couple of weeks. With the weather turning colder, Mr. Bill Ennis has been working on some tasty new items that add some "sticktuitiveness" to your sides...
On Thanksgiving, November 23rd, in addition to a Thanksgiving Day Dinner Special for the adults, we will be offering an Orphan Thanksgiving Dinner for those students unable to make it home for the Holiday. On that day, unfortunately we will not be open for Lunch at 11:00am (as usual), but will be opening instead at 4:00pm for Dinner.
On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, December 24th & 25th, we will modify our daily schedule by closing (at least the kitchen) at 7:00pm on Christmas Eve and opening for a "Let Us Do the Cooking" Christmas Dinner on the 25th at 4:00pm. In addition, with Christmas Day being one of the biggest movies days of the year, just bring in your movie stub from that day to receive a complimentary pint of Hoppy brew... Plus, we will have the last Monday Night Football game of the season on the BIG screen (stay tuned for details). Just our little way of saying Merry Christmas to our customers!!!
On December 31st, as you know, it is New Years Eve, and depending upon whom you talk to, it will be the last time you will get to a chance to drink a Hoppy brew in this millennium, or it will be your first chance to drink one in the next millennium... Therefore, make your reservations NOW! In addition, we will be open at 11:00am on NYD to watch the College Bowl games with a few New Years Day specials.
Lastly, we still have some space available for your upcoming holiday parties in the restaurant, and if you are looking for a space to have a private party (and do not mind some rustic surroundings) our TIN-Room behind the restaurant might suit your needs - but the space is filling up fast. If you have an interest in either space, just call 916.451.4677 and speak with Mr. Kenny Turner to plan your next party or event as soon as possible...

Remember...the craft brew industry is very competitive, and we can always use your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and etc. How can you help us you may be asking yourselves??? Well...we need you to ask your local retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging them if necessary), so that you are able to buy the products that you "really" want - not just what is on the store shelf, or on-tap, at the moment...
You, the consumer, have more power than you may know. Speak up, speak clearly, and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards. If you do this, then we are sure it will not be long before you will be able to enjoy our Liquid Sunshine™ Blonde, Hoppy Face™ Amber, and Total Eclipse™ Black Ales outside of attending a local festival, or even visiting us here in Sacramento...
