HOPPY BLOOD DRIVE!!!

SACRAMENTO, CA - On Monday afternoon, April 24th, the Sacramento Blood Center mobile unit arrived at Hoppy Brewing to be greeted by an excited staff and fellow local community supporters. Once the Blood Center staff had been fed lunch, fellow Hoppy staff members began rolling up their sleeves to donate blood to the local community. Mr. Todd Bonner, Director of Human Resources for Capital Power Federal Credit Union, located across the street from Hoppy, "we should have promoted this event along with Hoppy, which would have attracted an even larger crowd to give blood."

According to Ms. Jenise Jennings, from the Blood Center, "we just did not know how many people to expect, but the people that were able to donate were all quality donors."

For those interested in seeing some highlights from the blood drive, feel free to click on the link below. In addition, if you are interested in conducting a blood drive of your own, and you are in the Sacramento area, feel free to contact Ms. Jennings at 916.456.1500. We know that she (and the community) will be glad to hear from you!

HOPPY RECENT EVENTS!!!

Our Lucky Lunch Winner for the month of April was Ms. Deborah Yue, from the State of California, Department of Personnel Administration Classification and Compensation Division. Congratulations Ms. Yue!!! We look forward to serving you your complementary lunch!

Remember, if you have a chance to visit us here at the brewpub, be sure to drop your business card in the jar by the door on your way out to be eligible to win a complimentary Lunch and Drink on us. As my Mom says, "you can't win if you don't play" - thanks Mom...

On the brewing front, for those longing for the bananarie esters of a "true" hefeweizen, Heffa's-weizen is now back on tap, and should remain on tap throughout the Summer and Fall. Also, on-tap for May is Ed's Bitter Ale, a very good rendition of an English Pale Ale.

On Wednesday evening, April 24th, the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau held their monthly "mixer" here at Hoppy. According to Ms. Betty Drake, Director of Membership, "with a crowd of over a 100 people the mixer was a BIG success, plus it is easy to get people to come to a mixer at a brewpub." For more information about the SCV&B, they can be found online at http://www.sacramentocvb.org.

Sometime in mid-April, we finally got the webcam for the dining room installed, which is now providing nice updates on a regular basis, and completes an overall visual for those who can not make it to our establishment as often as they would like. If you are interested in checking the angles out, just click on http://www.hoppy.com/sacramento. In addition, with the clarity of the dining room picture, we will probably be installing one that [zooms] in on the "Daily Feature Board", so that anyone can just bring up the page to see what each days feature happens to be. Also, there have a been comments about getting one for the TIN-Room as well, but that is not quite a high priority item at them moment...

We are proud to announce the arrival of Mr. Nate Sullens as the latest member to our bartending staff. Nate is currently working Thursday & Friday days, and Saturday nights. Nate used to live in San Jose and worked at Waves Smokehouse & Saloon (http://www.waves-smokehouse.com) as a bartender before he decided that he wanted to go back to school here in Sacramento. Therefore, stop on by (if you have not done so already) and introduce yourself to him - he might even twirl a glass or two for you... ;)

HOPPY BREAKFAST!!!

SACRAMENTO, CA - After two and half weekends of being open at 8:30am for breakfast, we are sad to announce that until some more "issues" get resolved in the Kitchen and with our Staff, we will no longer be open for Breakfast. According to Mr. Troy Paski, Hoppy Brewing's President & CEO, "we have a strong commitment to not only provide high quality food, but also the best quality service available as well, and in analyzing what needs to be done so that both can happen efficiently, Breakfast will have to be put on the proverbial "back-burner" for the near future." "We just could not cook Lunch items and Breakfast items at the same time, and combine that with just not having enough staff to work the extra shifts, we decided it was in our customers best interest to not offer Breakfast until things change," comments Mr. Bill Ennis, Hoppy Brewing's Chief Financial Officer.

With that thought in mind, Hoppy Brewing is always looking for motivated individuals who have an interest in being part of our organization. If you are interested, or know of anyone who is interested, please have them contact Mr. Kenny Turner at 916.451.6328 ext. 48, or feel free to fax your resume to him at 916.451.3477.

Remember...the craft brew industry is very competitive, and we can always use your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and etc. How can you help us you may be asking yourselves??? Well...we need you to ask your local retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging them if necessary), so that you are able to buy the products that you "really" want - not just what is on the store shelf, or on-tap, at the moment...

You, the consumer, have more power than you may know. Speak up, speak clearly, and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards. If you do this, then we are sure it will not be long before you will be able to enjoy our Liquid Sunshine™ Blonde, Hoppy Face™ Amber, and Total Eclipse™ Black Ales; along with our Hoppy Springs™ "Pre-Brewed" Spring Water outside of attending a local festival, or even visiting us here in Sacramento...
