HOPPY AND POLITICS...

AUBURN, CA - With all of the interest in personal positioning and peoples private lives going on in Washington these days, it hardly seems possible that our beloved politicians found time to do something useful...

In addition to the usual Government Warning verbiage that normally appears on a beer label, the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) recently approved the following two statements for use on beer labels and packaging:

Although those statements are not exactly an outright "ringing" endorsement for alcohol consumption, their approval probably stemmed in part from a newly released study from Columbia University that shows moderate alcohol consumption - one or two drinks a day - reduces the risk of stroke. In fact, it was found that people who drank were found 50 percent less likely to suffer a stoke than those who did not drink at all.

"I heard that the above statements were originally crafted for the wine industry, but wherever they came from, we are glad to see that it is okay to put them on our beer labels as well," adds an ever enthusiastic Mr. Troy Paski, Hoppy Brewing's President & CEO. "This news is especially timely since we are in the process of updating them anyway, and since we are always interested in further educating the consumer about the health benefits of the moderate consumption of our beer (which until now has been prohibited by the ATF from doing so on our packaging), it will make it real easy to add them to our packaging updates," adds Mr. Paski.

"Also, since it has been wet, rainy, and cold outside for most of the winter, it has given us a chance to work with the talented Ms. Mary Ellen Szper, from Flying Frog Graphics (http://www.flyingfrog.com), on the inside where it's been warm and cozy updating our labels and six-packs carriers, so the timing of this news could not be better," finishes an always thinking Mr. Paski.

HOPPY SCREEN SAVER!!!

AUBURN, CA - Are you tired of looking at the same old screen saver on your computer??? Wished you had a nice cold one beside you??? Well, if you are in the mood, the good folks at Hoppy Brewing have put together all of their creative artwork in the form of a screen saver for you to enjoy for hours on end when you are not doing any work at your computer.

"It's not every day that you get a new screen saver from a beer company, and especially one that's FREE at that," comments Hoppy's Promotions Director, Mr. Robert Helms. "However, if you find it so outright enjoyable having it on your computer, that you feel like you just have to pay something for it, we will gladly accept your money, or if you get thirsty looking at the pictures - feel free to visit your nearest retailer and ask them for a Hoppy," adds a rather self-amused Mr. Helms.

If you are interested in downloading the screen saver, simply click on the address below, and it does not take that long to download and install either.

HOPPY HOOPLA!!!

AUBURN, CA - With online usage growing at an exponential rate, and because of the amount of traffic that the Hoppy website gets, Hoppy Brewing recently opened its website up to banner sponsors who meet a certain criteria. "What we're offering is prime real estate," comments Hoppy's Chief Financial Officer, "and I guess it's logical to start with the Real Estate Referral Network™. It's a GREAT service that this network is providing, especially if you're in the market, and we're very happy to provide them exposure on our site," concludes Mr. Reid.

For more information about their services, check out their website at:

SAN JOSE, CA - According to a number of people who braved the elements (primarily rain), the Mardi Gras party in front Waves Smokehouse & Saloon was a complete success. Even though the weather was cold, raining and downright miserable, more than 4,000 people turned out for the festival. "Quite frankly, I'm glad it [was] raining," said Joel Wyrick, proprietor of the infamous Smokehouse. "If it hadn't been raining, we would have probably had 10,000 people here celebrating Mardi Gras, and since this was the first year for the event, I [really] don't know what we would have done with everyone. However, make sure to mark your calendar now for next year," concludes a totally excited Mr. Wyrick.

For those who missed all of the action, pictures of the festivities can be found on the Mardi Gras website at:

Make sure to bring your beads next year, and of course your digital camera if you want to remember the highlights in full detail...

Remember...the craft brew industry is very competitive, and we can always use your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and etc. How can you help us you may be asking yourselves??? Well...we need you to ask your local retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging them if necessary), so that you are able to buy the products that you "really" want - not just what is on the store shelf or on tap at the moment...

You, the consumer, have more power than you may know. Speak up, speak clearly, and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards. If you do this, then we are sure it will not be long before you will be able to enjoy our Liquid Sunshine™ Blonde, Hoppy Face™ Amber, and Total Eclipse™ Black Ales, and our newest product Hoppy Springs™ "Pre-Brewed" Spring Water outside of attending a local festival...
