HOPPY VOTES FOR BEER!!!
SACRAMENTO, CA - With a "SPECIAL" Election Day on hand this coming Tuesday, and
various state issues to be determined, Hoppy is providing a little "extra"
incentive to help you get off your butt and go VOTE in this SPECIAL election...
Therefore, if you are old enough to vote - make your voice heard and go vote -
and when you have completed that task, just bring in your voting stub and
exchange it for a tasty pint of Hoppy brew on Tuesday, November 08th. Also, for
those who are not legally old enough to drink, and/or those who do not indulge
in a little alcohol, Hoppy will be more than happy to exchange your voting stub
for a dessert of your choice; hopefully that will be enough incentive to entice
you to make your voice heard... :)
REMEMBER: according to the former Soft Boys musician and prophetic statesman,
Mr. Robyn Hitchcock, "The greatest crime of the 20th century is that of the
(silent) voting majority"; let's not see that be the greatest crime of the 21st
century as well.

HOPPY CLAUS DEBUTS...
SACRAMENTO, CA - Each year after the heat of summer begins to fade, our Hoppy
Brew Crew begins planning for our annual holiday brew. The first step is
obtaining the "special" ingredients for the brew. Basically, our Hoppy Claus™ is
an amped up version of our flagship Hoppy Face™ Amber Ale, but instead of adding
hops to the finish, Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea is added. Bengal Spice
contains a unique mixture of cinnamon, roasted chicory root, roasted carob,
dates, ginger root, cardamom, black pepper, cloves, and nutmeg that adds a real
unique and interesting character to this holiday brew.
Once it is brewed, the brew crew patiently waits as this hearty brew "mellows"
in the brite tanks until the end of October to begin packaging what will be
shipped out to our local distributors; which will in turn end up on retailers
store shelves (i.e., Albertson's, Beverages, & more!, & Corti Brothers to name a
few) for thirsty consumers to purchase during the holiday season.
The remainder is then kegged out for its debut here in the brewpub on November
01st (with much excitement), or for off-premise sales around the area during the
holiday season. In the grand scheme of things, enough is brewed so that none is
left after the holiday season. This tasty brew weighs in with a hearty amount of
alcohol at 7.8% by volume, so make sure to stop in for a pint or two before it
is gone, or else you will have to wait until next year...
Okay...for those who have been patiently waiting, the scoop is that when the
Abbe Castello runs out in mid-December, the Super Hoppy Pale Ale will make a
return just in time for Christmas - that is if you continue to be good beer
drinkers between now and then!!! :)
In addition, due on tap when the Hoppy Claus runs out will be the "Alhel
Braaksloos Strong Ale", which is named after a very obscure Belgian clown from
the 19th century. A pint on the house will go to the first person to identify
the name of the father of this clown. Now back to the beer - this pale orange
strong ale is brewed with the Trappist ale used in the Abbe Castello and has a
similar fruity ester flavor. It is mildly hopped and subtly spiced with a
not-so-secret blend of sweet orange peel, cardamom, and ginger; along with a
fair amount of Belgian Candi Sugar to make this beer full, dry, and dangerously
drinkable. Probably the closest thing to it on the market is La Chouffe, but
that has coriander instead. Estimated alcohol by volume is 9.1%!!!

HOPPY SUPPORTS ROTARY!!!
SACRAMENTO, CA - A recent catering event by Hoppy's Catering Crew, saw Hoppy
catering to a group of local Rotary Presidents. The group of about 220 people
was treated to a buffet consisting of meat ziti, chicken parmesan, cheese
tortellini, garlic bread, green salad, liquor, wine, and of course tasty Hoppy
Brews.
The featured speaker for the evening was the past world president of Rotary
International, Mr. Rick King. Mr. King reminded the group to continually ask
themselves "what really matters the most". He also noted that in America we come
together and create solutions peacefully, and as Rotarians we do the same
through our efforts internationally and locally in the projects that we
complete. Pretty good food for thought all the way around...
In addition, with the holiday season getting started, if by chance you have some
catering needs, feel free to contact Mr. Kenny Turner here at Hoppy to discuss
how we may be of assistance to you. Mr. Turner can be reached via email at
mailto:kenny@hoppy.com , or via phone at
916.451.4677.

Remember...the craft brew industry is very competitive, and we can always use
your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and
etc. How can you help us you may be asking yourself??? Well...ask your local
retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging them if necessary), so
that you are able to buy the products that you "really" want - not just what is
on the store shelf, or on-tap, at the moment...
You, the consumer, have more power than you may know. Speak up, speak clearly,
and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards. If you do this,
then we are sure it will not be long before you will be able to enjoy our Liquid
Sunshine™ Blonde, Hoppy Face™ Amber, Stony Face™ Red, and Total Eclipse™ Black
Ales outside of attending a local festival, or even visiting us here in
Sacramento...
