HOPPY VOTES FOR BEER!!!
SACRAMENTO, CA - With ELECTION DAY on hand, and various federal, state, and
local issues to be determined, Hoppy is providing a little "extra" incentive to
help you get off your butt and go VOTE...
Therefore, if you are old enough to vote - make your voice heard and go vote -
even if you do not like any of the candidates and/or issues, and when you have
completed that task, just bring in your voting stub and exchange it for a tasty
pint of Hoppy brew on Tuesday, November 02nd. Also, for those who are not
legally old enough to drink, and/or those who do not indulge in a little
alcohol, Hoppy will be more than happy to exchange your voting stub for a
dessert of your choice; hopefully that will be enough incentive to entice you to
make your voice heard... :)
REMEMBER: according to the former Soft Boys musician and prophetic statesman,
Mr. Robyn Hitchcock, "The greatest crime of the 20th century is that of the
(silent) voting majority"; let's not see that be the greatest crime of the 21st
century as well.

HOPPY CLAUS DEBUTS...
SACRAMENTO, CA - Each year after the heat of summer begins to fade, our Hoppy
Brew Crew begins planning for our annual holiday brew. The first step is
obtaining the "special" ingredients for the brew. Basically, our Hoppy Claus™ is
an amped up version of our flagship Hoppy Face™ Amber Ale, but instead of adding
hops to the finish, Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea is added. Bengal Spice
contains a unique mixture of cinnamon, roasted chicory root, roasted carob,
dates, ginger root, cardamom, black pepper, cloves, and nutmeg that adds a real
unique and interesting character to this holiday brew.
Once it is brewed, the brew crew patiently waits as this hearty brew "mellows"
in the brite tanks until the end of October to begin packaging what will be
shipped out to our local distributors; which will in turn end up on retailers
store shelves (i.e., Albertson's, Beverages, & more!, & Corti Brothers to name a
few) for thirsty consumers to purchase during the holiday season.
The remainder is then kegged out for its debut here in the brewpub on November
01st (with much excitement), or for off-premise sales around the area during the
holiday season. In the grand scheme of things, enough is brewed so that none is
left after the holiday season. This tasty brew weighs in with a hearty amount of
alcohol at 7.8% by volume, so make sure to stop in for a pint or two before it
is gone, or else you will have to wait until next year...

HOPPY POTPOURRI!!!
SACRAMENTO, CA - For those who have been suggesting a change in the beer line
up, the Brew Crew & Company have been considering that change for some time as
well. The "real" problem is, what do you get rid of??? With that thought in
mind, the logical choice is Bill's Brown Ale... Now I suppose you might be
asking yourself what will replace it??? Good question!
Currently, the leading contender on the drawing boards is a kind beer that is
similar to a cross between a Hoppy Face and a Stony Face that will be poured on
the nitrogen tap. The malts will include Briess Caramel 80, Briess Chocolate,
and Briess Extra Special Roast. Whereas the hops will consist of Nugget for
bittering, and then late and dry hopping with both Columbus and East Kent
Golding. Look for it to appear as a Brewer's Special sometime in December or
January.
Another upcoming special is a Super "Duper" Hoppy Pale Ale. Back by overwhelming
demand, the Brew Crew is bringing back a special winter edition of the perennial
favorite Super Hoppy Pale Ale. However, this time it is even stronger and even
more bitterer(erer)... Estimated alcohol by volume should be around 7.4%, and
should be on tap some time in December.
>From the kitchen side of the house, look for an updated Lunch coming out in the
next couple of weeks, and for an updated Dinner menu coming out around the first
of December - just in time for the holidays!!!

HOPPY RECENT EVENTS...
Our Lucky Dinner Winner for the month of November is Mr. Doug Nelson, who is a
Project Engineer for Roebbelen. Congratulations Mr. Nelson!!! We look forward to
serving you and your friends a complementary dinner for up to four friends
and/or family on any weekend!!!
Have you become accustomed to coming to Hoppy to watch a Kings game??? Well...as
of this time, due to the nature of various TV contracts, Hoppy will not be able
to provide "all" of the Sacramento Kings games to those fans interested in
watching their team. However, conditions may change as the season progresses,
and there are still a significant number of Kings games that will be televised
here at Hoppy. In addition to just Kings games, we will once again have the
option to watch any "other" NBA game this season... Also, just like last year,
we will be suspending reservations during Kings games in the main dining area.
Therefore, if you have a group of people and want a great seat for the game -
that is televised, and then make sure that your entire group arrives early...
Our brewpub is open daily at 11:00am serving some of the best valued Lunches,
Dinners, and Daily Specials in the area. If you have not seen our menu lately,
feel free to check it out online at
http://www.hoppy.com/sacramento/menu.htm , or just stop in and see us. We
are always looking forward to sharing our day with our valued customers.
However, as some of you already know, Lunch can get quite busy from time-to-time
during the week; so if you are on a tight schedule, please try to avoid the noon
hour for sharing if possible - especially if you have a large party.

Remember...the craft brew industry is very competitive, and we can always use
your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and
etc. How can you help us you may be asking yourself??? Well...ask your local
retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging them if necessary), so
that you are able to buy the products that you "really" want - not just what is
on the store shelf, or on-tap, at the moment...
You, the consumer, have more power than you may know. Speak up, speak clearly,
and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards. If you do this,
then we are sure it will not be long before you will be able to enjoy our Liquid
Sunshine™ Blonde, Hoppy Face™ Amber, Stony Face™ Red, and Total Eclipse™ Black
Ales outside of attending a local festival, or even visiting us here in
Sacramento...
