HOPPY CLAUS DEBUTS!!!
SACRAMENTO, CA - Each year after the heat of Summer begins to fade, our Hoppy Brew Crew begins planning for our annual holiday brew. The first step is obtaining the "special" ingredients for the brew. Basically, our Hoppy Claus™ is an amped up version of our flagship Hoppy Face™ Amber Ale, but instead of adding hops to the finish, Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice tea is added. Bengal Spice contains a unique mixture of cinnamon, roasted chicory root, roasted carob, dates, ginger root, cardamom, black pepper, cloves, and nutmeg that adds a real unique and interesting character to the brew.
Once it is brewed, the brew crew patiently waits as this hearty brew "mellows" in the brite tanks until the end of October to begin packaging what will be shipped out to our local distributors; which will in turn end up on retailers store shelves (i.e., Albertson's, Beverages,& more!, & Corti Brothers to name a few) for thirsty consumers to purchase during the holiday season.
The remainder is then kegged out for its debut here in the brewpub on November 01st (with much excitement), or for off-premise sales around the area during the holiday season. In the grand scheme of things, enough is brewed so that none is left after Christmas. This tasty brew weighs in with a hearty amount of alcohol at 7.8% by volume, so make sure to stop in for a pint or two before it is gone, or else you will have to wait until next year...

HOPPY HELPS THE HUNGRY...
SACRAMENTO, CA - The "Run to Feed the Hungry", organized by the Sacramento Food Bank Services, is proud to be celebrating its 10th anniversary of the race and in raising funds to help support the hungry this Thanksgiving.
In 1994 nearly 800 runners and walkers turned out for the inaugural edition of the 5K/10K Run to Feed the Hungry. Participation in the race has increased by 1,500 entrants every year since its inception -- 12,511 entrants laced up their shoes for the last years edition. The annual event has become a holiday tradition for countless area families, and the Run to Feed the Hungry now ranks as the Sacramento Valley's largest annual fun run.
Last year saw the debut of The Sacramento Bee's Celebrity Challenge featuring Rick Kushman (Sacramento Bee), Chris Lane (KFBK 1530), Paul Robins (Y92.5) and Jack Armstrong (KSTE 650). In the closest race in the history of the men's race, Christian Hesch of Morro Bay set a new course and City of Sacramento 10K record of 29:29. Sacramento native and Stanford graduate Jason Perscheid finished 2nd in 29:34. In addition, last year's race raised over $189,000 for Sacramento Food Bank Services.
For those participating in the event, look for Hoppy's tent at the race for some goodies and a coupon good for a discount at the brewpub after the race and during the remainder of that holiday weekend. Plus, if you need more information about the race, or feel like participating, feel free to visit them online at http://www.runtofeedthehungry.com/home.html, or call them at 916.719.4400.

HOPPY POTPOURRI!!!
SACRAMENTO, CA - In other interesting news, (yes some of the people who work here actually have lives outside of working here all of the time) one of Hoppy's employees is working on a side career with a bit of stand-up comedy. Mr. Ali Tabatabai, a busser here at Hoppy, performed on October 15th at Harlows and received great reviews. So much so, he has been invited back on the 12th of this month for another performance. Harlows is located nearby at the corner of 27th & J Street. You might want to catch him now before you spend one of these nights watching the Tonight Show and go "hey that's Ali". For more information, feel free to check with your bartender or server.
For those who live outside of the area, or for those who do not listen to KZZO 100.5 FM, Hoppy recently recorded and ran a radio spot featuring on air personality Ms. Monica Lowe interviewing Mr. Bob Hayes a regular customer here at Hoppy. Feel free to click on the link below to give it a listen...

However, if you are not sure about our merchandise as a gift, we also have gift certificates available in most any denomination of your choice for use here at our brewpub to give as a present as well...

Remember...the craft brew industry is very competitive, and we can always use your help when you are out there in the bars, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. How can you help us you may be asking yourselves??? Well...ask your local retailer(s) for our products (to the point of bugging them if necessary), so that you are able to buy the products that you "really" want - not just what is on the store shelf, or on-tap, at the moment...
You, the consumer, have more power than you may know. Speak up, speak clearly, and your earnest taste buds may reap those proactive rewards. If you do this, then we are sure it will not be long before you will be able to enjoy our Liquid SunshineT Blonde, Hoppy FaceT Amber, Stony FaceT Red, and Total EclipseT Black Ales outside of attending a local festival, or even visiting us here in Sacramento...
